Mighty Monday - February 9, 2026
Some mornings, the news doesn’t just inform me — it tries to form me.
It offers fear, suspicion, outrage, and that anxious feeling that says, “Something is wrong… and you should panic about it.”
Recent news events can feel unsettling. And sometimes after I hear something I think: Here we go again. I’m filled with the pressure to pick a side, to spiral, to rehearse worst-case scenarios, to carry the weight of outcomes I can’t control.
So what I do in moments like this:
I pray.
Not the “nice” kind of prayer that stays polite and surface-level — but the kind that pushes back on darkness and asks God to guard hearts, expose what’s hidden, and heal what’s broken. I pray like this becuase evil is real, and sometimes it looks like policies, systems, and people who are so wounded they practice harm like it’s normal.
My prayer makes me say:
“I don’t know who will “win”, but I do know who will be left standing — Jesus.”
That sentence settles me.
God is not surprised by today. The Creator of time saw these moments long before they arrived. The Lord sees more than my timeline, my country, my feed, and my fears. He sees the whole world — and He’s not running for office.
The winner isn’t the left or the right. The winner is the Kingdom.
So here’s my Mighty Monday reminder:
When the news stirs anxiety, let it become your cue to pray.
When your mind starts racing, return to the One who is steady.
When you don’t have all the facts, you can still choose faith, peace, and obedience in the “blip of time” you’ve been given.
Prayer is how we diffuse fear.
It’s how we stay human.
It’s how we keep our hope where it belongs.
Reflection :
For the curious: Like you seek information about rigged election results and leaders with evil plans, seek more information about Jesus. Who is he, what did he do and why did he do it?
For the believer in Christ: Check yourself-you are called to be Light. Are you acting like Light reflecting his agenda or are you acting like a blinking bulb and reflecting your own desires and agenda?
