Beyond Left and Right: A Kingdom Response

One morning my husband shared with me tactics which were being instituted to limit people’s voting. He’d read about 300,000 African American votes being tossed out in tone state because a name had not be recorded correctly. He’d read about where another state’s Supreme Court voted not to contact voters of an incorrect mail-in ballot until after the election.

What should I do with this information?

I prayed.

These tactics sound evil so I prayed against evil and those whose hearts are broken enough to practice evil. As I prayed, I heard myself say, I don’t know who will “win”, but I do know who will be left standing - JESUS.

Do you know the Creator of Time saw this moment long before it happened? And did you know the Lord sees the world, not just the U.S.? And did you know some Christians in the U.S. don’t represent Christians everywhere? And did you know the winner is not the left or right?

The summation of it all: we know so much and yet we know nothing.

The actions we practice now and do not repent of become a lair of things we have to defend, sometimes now and definitely at Judgment.

And it’s okay if you don’t believe in God or his Judgement Day: you don’t have to. It is your choice.

In the meantime, I will pray and believe in God, his plan in bringing all to relationship with him in Christ, and how I am to live in this blip of time I have before eternity.

Reflection :

For the curious: Like you seek information about rigged election results and leaders with evil plans, seek more information about Jesus. Who is he, what did he do and why did he do it?

For the believer in Christ: Check yourself-you are called to be Light. Are you acting like Light reflecting his agenda or are you acting like a blinking bulb and reflecting your own desires and agenda

Prayer:

Dear Lord God. You are the Sovereign Lord. You see the nature of humanity. You saw it at the Garden, you saw it before and after the flood. You saw it before and after Jesus. You are fully aware of the depth of humanity's wickedness and the height of its potential. I don’t know what to pray as I see news events unfold. But I do know none of this is not the diet time for you. It’s the first time for us. I do know that as you helped those who love you navigate historical events like this in the past, you will help us navigate in the future. I lift my eyes to the hills and the heavens and ask for your strength and your will to be done in these situations. And I ask that like you bent the heart of Paul toward you, please break the heart, open the eyes and unclog the ears of those who need to repent and submit to Jesus. Everlasting. You are with us .  Amen
